(…) Invenio studies expansion of activity for Lisbon market

Invenio Engenharia, a company specialized in the construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction of buildings, is in charge of several works in downtown Porto and in the Douro region, but intends to extend its activity to other regions of the country.

According to Francisco Paiva Ribeiro, administrator of Invenio, “the Lisbon region should be the next stage of growth” of the civil construction and public works society, totally national, “with an operational structure that has more than 30 years of experience in the construction sector and real estate “.

“At the moment we are analyzing the reconstruction of three buildings in Lisbon. It’s a market that interests us, “he says. The company is also analyzing the opportunity to intervene in a historic farm located in Sintra.

However, formally, Invenio started work in 2013, and since then it has already carried out a number of rehabilitation projects, with a number of other projects in the pipeline. A situation that is also due to the fact that it has managed to captivate a group of professionals – “some who were working abroad 10/15 years ago”, and who are an added value of the company “, he says.

“At the moment, Invenio has 10 works underway,” he says. “The works are being done by a group of companies of subcontractors, whose structure and organization is coordinated by the engineers and in charge of the Invenio,” he adds.

Francisco Paiva Ribeiro guarantees that “Invenio’s business plan is very well defined”, with the main clients being “investment companies and closed-end funds”. He adds that “we have been growing, with a good rate of return”, but this is due, in his opinion, “to the relationship of proximity with our client”.

It also highlights “we accompany our client”, and our position “is to be part of the solution and not the problem”. The company has intervened in degraded buildings, in ruin and devolves, creating housing, commercial and hotel spaces that stand out for the quality of construction, respect for the original layout and aesthetic care.

Headquartered in Porto, Invenio intends to be recognized as a company that seeks the sustainability of its activity, combining value creation with the guarantee of transparency in relation with all stakeholders.

Invenio will rehabilitate an old mansion in the historical area of Invicta, more precisely in Rua de São João, to transform it into a luxury hotel. An intervention that reaches 2.7 million euros. The reconstruction works, which have already begun, have a term of execution of 15 months. The company estimates that the eighteenth-century building, which was abandoned, is fully completed in the second half of 2019. The project is designed by the architect João Figueiroa and intends to “evoke the bourgeois port of the eighteenth century.” The building began as the home of a bourgeois family, and was later used as a grocery store.
